Bretagne in Lozere In the footsteps of Bertrand Du Guesclin.

Bertrand du Guesclin, born around 1320 at the Château de la Motte-Broons, near Dinan and died on 13 July 1380 in front of Châteauneuf-de-Randon, was a Breton nobleman, constable of France and Castile, a very important figure in the first part of the Hundred Years’ War.

 

 

This formula includes :

 

  • 2 nights in a comfortable double room,
  • Buffet breakfast,
  • Evening meals in 4 courses
  • In the morning, departure from the establishment to the village of Châteauneuf de Randon, on foot (please bring walking shoes), alternatively possible by car,
  • Visit of Bertrand Du Guesclin’s museum,
  • Discovery of the parapet walk,
  • Return to the hotel at the end of the morning to take his personal car towards Le Puy en Velay 60 kms away, visit of the town without forgetting the Saint Laurent church where the bowels of Du Guesclin rest.

We are Logis Moto, Lozere motorcycle reception, Logis vélo, we have all the necessary equipment to take care of you and your bike (Closed garage, dryer, boot dryer, breakdown kit…).  The circuits and itineraries will be provided to you free of charge upon your arrival with us.

1st circuit : Naussac Lake (64 kms) 

 

Lake Naussac is a reservoir of the Naussac dam. It is the largest lake in the French department of Lozère. The old village of Naussac is located below the water level of the lake and was flooded. Its function is to ensure a minimum flow in case of low water in the middle and lower course of the Allier and Loire rivers.

1st circuit: Le Grand Connétable (47 kms or 4h30) a trip to Grandrieu.

 

 

2nd circuit : The Lake of Charpal (48.7 kms or 6h, 915m difference in altitude).

The lake of Charpal is a reservoir of the Charpal dam at more than 1300 m of altitude.

The lake is at the foot of the Truc de Fortunio on the plateau of the Palais du Roi.

It serves as a drinking water supply for the city of Mende, capital of Lozere and its surroundings.
